"Album Vilmorin No. 32 1881 / Vilmorin-Andrieux & Cie." Vilmorin-Andrieux and Company was an important seed company that got its start from printing these plates in 1850, following the expertise of Philippe Victoire de Vilmorin, a merchant and botanist, and his father-in-law Pierre Andrieux, official botanist to the King of France. The company contributed to the advancement of botany and agronomic knowledge of the time. Elisa Champin originally painted and engraved these plates. This plate features labeled drawings of strawberries, Bintje potatoes, white celery, Rocca large onion, and Valexy carrot.
