Johnson and Gee were both known for their whimsical patterns, making their works done together incredibly bright and dramatic. Along with Johnson, Penelope Tree also modeled in these, and other prints of Gee's. Not only was this print series important in the pop art era, but the outlined figures filled with movement clearly had an influence over the colorful Apple iPod silhouette posters from the 2000s.
