Original 1918 poster lithograph  published by the US Shipping Board. ON THE JOB FOR VICTORY, Artist: Jonas Lie (1880-1940) Original  larger format  version of  poster measuring 38″ x 56″ issued by the United States shipping board and published by F. Powers Company in New York. This poster was also issued in a more common  smaller 30″ x 40″ version and depicts the shipyard in full operation for the emergency construction of ships for the war effort. Jonas Lie was a celebrated American painter who was famous for his maritime paintings and colorful impressionistic style. This poster is rare to find in this size and did receive Linen Backing & restoration to repair rips.
