The head of the 5 Buddha family is Buddha Vairochana.  He is generally seen as a White Buddha, but in some traditions he is depicted Blue in color.  He holds his hands in the position of Dharma chakra; the Teaching Mudra. He represents the wisdom of shunyata, or emptiness. Vairocana is considered a personification of the Dharmakaya -- everything, unmanifested, free of characteristics and distinctions. He is associated with the first Skandha form. Meditation on Vairocana vanquishes ignorance and delusion, leading to wisdom.
