Key Features of the Olympic Kilns 20/20H Furniture Kit for Oval Kilns Shelves: When it comes to the shelving, there are two variations you can choose from depending on which kiln you use. If you are using the DM2023, you have a "dual-media kiln" allowing you to switch from firing pottery to firing glass. When you are firing a lot glass, you won't want layers of shelving, but you will want a full shelf without spaces; so the kit is configured with (1) #20-oval full shelf sized at 15.5" x 27" x 1". You'll also get (2) each of 12" x 16" x 5/8" rectangle shelves and (4) each of 15.5" x 7-3/4" half shelves for when you use the kiln to fire pottery. If you are buying this kit for use in one of the 20" Oval Kilns (2018HE, 2023HE, or 2027HE), the assumption is that you are primarily only firing pottery and ceramics where you'll create layers of shelving and spaces are not a concern.
