Antique Compact Italian Champleve Enamel Gold Gilt Powder Box

Here's another stunning and extremely rare Italian made champlevé red, blue and light mint green enameled gold gilt vanity powder box or compact in excellent condition.The piece features a stunning and intricately hand chased floral scrolled design. The champlevé is done in a brilliant red, blue and pale green enamel. The interior is a shiny with a heavy gold plating, and is hallmarked with the number 2, as well as Made In Italy on the inside bottom of the compact.It opens to a clean powder compartment with a clear beveled glass mirror, with a stunning gold chased frame that is in excellent condition.The hinge and clasp are in secure working condition; and the piece has a gorgeous champlevé design around all the edges of the box.It measures approximately 3 1/8 inches in length by 2 1/8 inches, and is 5/8 inches in thickness.
