Antique Compact Italian Champleve Enamel Gold Gilt Powder Box Victorian Courting Scene RARE

This is a gorgeous and rare Italian made champlevé enameled gold gilt Victorian courting scene powder compact. The piece features a lovely Victorian courting scene under beveled glass, with an intricate raised design surrounding the portrait. The champlevé surround is done in a pretty turquoise blue enamel with chased accents to the gold gilt. It opens to a clean gold plated powder compartment with a sifter net and handmade silk powder puff. It is hallmarked on the gold frame mirror "Made In Italy". The mirror is clear, and casts a crisp reflection. The hinge and clasp are in great working condition. It also has a stunning raised repousse design around the edges of the compact. It measures approximately 3 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches, and is approximately 5/8th of an inch in depth. It's in lovely condition for a piece of this age.
