FOR BOTTOM OR SIDE OF TANK MOUNTING. Dimensions & Materials The difference in the Short Tail and Long Tail is the amount of thread. The Short tail is designed to mount in the bottom of a tank whereas the Long Tail is able to be threaded through the side as well as the bottom of a tank. The short tail option does NOT have the nut/seal option, only the long tail includes those.
