.243 Win Varmint Rifle - 1961
This .243 varmint rifle was produced in 1961. It is a high-condition rifle in original factory finishes and configuration. It grades in NRA very good to excellent condition with no notable wear and only a few very slight handling marks. Other than the exceptions noted below, the condition is as follows: The stock retains its factory finish in excellent condition and the factory buttplate is intact. There are no cracks or stains in the wood and the checkering is crisp and unblemished. The original bluing is intact and perfect. This rifle has the polish-blued finish on the stainless barrel. Sometimes called "smokey" blue, this was an experimental bluing process for stainless barrels, which Winchester used for a short period of time. The bore of the heavy varmint profile barrel is bright with strong rifling and no evident throat wear or other problems.
