.257 Roberts Ackley Improved Custom Rifle - 1953

This is a custom rifle chambered in .257 Roberts Ackley Improved, produced in 1953. The barrel is an aftermarket custom barrel, without provision for sights. The stock was originally a Featherweight stock but the barrel channel has been opened up for the aftermarket barrel contour.  The bolt handle has been modified from the original contour and the magazine follower has been replaced with an aftermarket model. The extractor ring has been modified. The rifle grades in NRA very good condition.  The stock has many rubs, scratches and shallow dings but no cracks, splits or other notable damage. The finish appears to have been overcoated. The factory buttplate has been replaced with a Pachmayr White Line recoil pad which is still soft and in good condition. The original checkering is in good condition with some worn and flat spots.
