.270 Win Featherweight Custom - 1961

This is a superbly customized .270 Win Featherweight made in 1961.  the rifle grades in NRA excellent approaching perfect condition.  This rifle came to us out of western Montana.  The maker of this rifle is unknown and we do not have any of its history or provenance.  The styling bears hints of Al Beisen influence and the period and location are right for this influence. The custom work is outstanding quality and could easily be the work of a known maker. On first look, we believed the stock to be a factory Featherweight stock that had been re-checkered.  However, on close examination this stock appears to be a full custom. This is given away by a slightly reduced drop angle on the butt, an extended grip length, and a much tighter fitting inlet than can be found on a factory stock.  In addition to the fleur-de-lis style wraparound checkering, the stock also features checkered steel buttplate and grip cap.  The metal parts appear to have all been oxide blued in a ultra-black over fact
