.270 Win. - Standard Rifle - 1950

This is a .270 Winchester standard rifle, produced in 1950. This rifle came to us in a modified and re-finished condition. The bolt is correct and serial number matched, faintly, to the receiver. The receiver has had four extra holes drilled and tapped in the left side, two of which are visible, the other two are below the stock line.  The rifle had been re-blued, and it appears that during that process the barrel was over-sanded, resulting in some "waviness" behind the front sight. The bluing is dark, without noticeable wear. The metal, aside from the sanding marks in the barrel, is in excellent condition with no dings, pitting, or other defects. The bore of the 24" barrel shows some wear in the throat and some scattered pits. For these reasons, it rates a 6 out of 10 upon borescope inspection.   The refinished low-comb stock has almost no wear, dings or scratches. There are no deep gouges, cracks, or splits.
