This volume will be found, however, also to have much of the value of a guidebook for the traveler on the ground, and with this viewpoint, it is furnished with a map -- Preference. This early edition is in good condition. It is bound in blue cloth with a black and gilt decorative front panel and spine. There is wear to the extremities, corners that are slightly bumped, staining on the back panel, and soiling to the spine. The text block has hints of foxing on the page margins. The top fore-edge is in gilt. There is a "California Limited" stamp on the front pastedown. Otherwise, the pages are unmarked, and the binding is secure.
