Dusty for Speed! is a children's novel authored by Frances Fullerton Neilson and Winthrop Neilson that follows thirteen-year-old Jan, who discovers a golden whippet named Dusty near his family's gasoline station. Despite the family's financial struggles, Jan brings Dusty home, adding another mouth to feed. The plot thickens as gangsters steal Dusty and enter her into races over the winter, but spring brings hope for better times.  The narrative is inspired by the authors' own golden whippet, described as possessing "the grace of a deer and the speed of the flying wind."  This hardcover is in good condition. First edition, library book in library binding.
