Handknit by Edith in the South of Chile, made using 100% Organic Wool. Edith worked for over ten years as the lead knitter for the Tompkins Conservatory in Chile. Douglas and Kris Tompkins, the owners of the company North Face resided a large part of their time in Puerto Varas, Chile. There they have the headquarters for their Rewilding Project which they have worked on for many years. After Douglas passed away Kris took over on her own and has continued working to create National Parks here in Chile and Argentina. To give back to the communities who lived on the lands they were buying, they helped manufacture and sell their local goods. Edith stood out to them with her obvious talent for knitting and her motivation to work, she quickly became one of their favorites. They had a shop at the Tompkins Conservatory in Puerto Varas, Chile where her sweaters were sold and loved. You can learn more about their Rewilding project in their new documentary shown on Disney + National Geographic.
