It was not flies but bees and the presence, in ancient times, of beehives in this climate south of Beaune, overlooking Pommard, that gave it this name. The "Clos des Mouches" is one of the pearls of Burgundy, certainly at the level of a grand cru. Indeed, its hillside location gives it a lot of precision and purity. The notes of white flowers, honey and wax already foreshadow a high-level wine. It has a racy, chiseled palate of incomparable length.
