Once I was behind the wheel of my sweet and yet-unnamed rig, our first trip together--just the van and me--was from my home in New Mexico up to Telluride, Colorado, via highway 550, across three mountain passes higher than 10,000 feet. The second of those--Molas Pass--isn't the highest, but it is the most scenic. And at the top of that pass, feeling utterly euphoric, I stopped, got out, and gave her a kiss on the nose.
