Historical reproduction of a 16th-century German Krautstrunk beaker. The German word krautstrunk, meaning cabbage stalk, suggests the glassware’s likeness to the staple brassica crop. The Krautstrunk beaker is a type of Waldglas or “forest glass”; its name denotes the Northern European woods where these vessels were traditionally made, whose iron-oxide rich soil and beech trees gave the glassware its natural verdant hue. This tall beaker features a subtle taper and dollops of soft-pointed prunts hand-applied in vertical rows. Handmade by artisan glassblowers in France 2.25" diameter x 6.75" tall
