1940s Soiree Skirt

Vintage post-war taffeta maxi skirt with a voluminous sweep and wide waistband in a festive plaid. Details Era: 1940sLabel: none (handmade)Fabric: taffetaColor*: black, white, red, blue, greenClosure: metal zip up back with hooks and eyes Measurements Waist: 26"Hip: free Length*: 49-50" *The hem varies in length as the skirt is very voluminous.  The sweep is so wide, fabric was pieced in at the sides.  It would probably look great with a lightweight crinoline. Condition Very good, with some minor quirks from being handmade.  There is some visible white stitching at the seams, a minor discrepancy in the weave of the fabric, and wavy black stitching at the waist band (see images).  All flaws noted can go virtually unnoticed.   *Color displays differently on various computer monitors.
