Icelandic Ewe Raw Wool Fleece (Fall Shearing)
This listing is for a lovely virgin Icelandic Ewe Raw Wool Fleece from the fall shearing of 2025. This fleece is the result of 6 months’ growth from April - October 2025. Our sheep graze all summer and fall on a prairie pasture in west-central Minnesota, providing the best nutrition for their wool growth. This fleece comes from our ewe Ltlu (Little Ewe) who is white with black spots, our most unusual fleece in our flock. Her fleece has a staple length of 8 inches. Icelandic wool is dual-coated, and can be handspun into lopi style yarn, or combed to spin the tog and thel separately. This fleece would be ideal for handspinning and would yield a light gray yarn. 2 pounds 6 ounces of diligently skirted wool with little vegetable matter (VM) and very few second cuts. Packaged and mailed in a cotton/polyester pillowcase, perfect for breathable storage.
