Icelandic Ewe Raw Wool Fleece (Fall Shearing)
This listing is for a lovely virgin Icelandic Ewe Raw Wool Fleece from the fall shearing of 2025. This fleece is the result of 6 months’ growth from April - October 2025. Our sheep graze all summer and fall on a prairie pasture in west-central Minnesota, providing the best nutrition for their wool growth. This fleece comes from our ewe Ena who is a black gray. Her fleece has a staple length of 5 inches. Icelandic wool is dual-coated, and can be handspun into lopi style yarn, or combed to spin the tog and thel separately. This fleece would be ideal for handspinning and would yield a charcoal gray yarn. 2 pounds 15 ounces of diligently skirted wool with little vegetable matter (VM) and very few second cuts. Packaged and mailed in a cotton/polyester pillowcase, perfect for breathable storage.
