
RIPPLING WINGS SHAWL - KNITTING PATTERN
This is a triangular shawl that uses sequence knitting and has the option of marled knitting as well. Cecelia Campochiaro’s books on both those topics provided some of the inspiration for the pattern. It is knit from side to side starting with just a few stitches and increasing along one edge until you have used almost half the yarn. Then you begin decreasing all the way to the final point. The knits and purls work together to create a fascinating ripple effect, and the triangular shape reminds me of birds’ wings—thus the name Rippling Wings.
