The branches are believed to be what Jesus' crown of thorns was made from. When the tree is in full bloom, not only is it beautiful, but fascinatingly, each leaf has three distinct veins, and the flowers of the tree have golden petals in the shape of stars. Also remarkable to note, is that all parts of the tree - from the bark and the berries, to the leaves and flowers - have potent medicinal qualities.
