Hand Built Lamps & Shades with Rebecca Boraz

Pursuits Studio is proud to host Rebecca Boraz from Brave Atlas Studio for a 4-part workshop in Hand Built Lamps and Shades. Participants will make a lamp, including a ceramic shade and learn basic electrical wiring. Artists will be encouraged to think about light and shadows as they hand-build their lamps. Participants should understand the fundamentals of hand building but they do not to be advanced in ceramics for this workshop. All supplies included. Rebecca Boraz is a Portland-based ceramic artist who creates handbuilt porcelain lamps that explore light, form, and the emotional resonance of everyday objects. With a background in art therapy and printmaking, Rebecca brings a thoughtful, process-oriented approach to teaching, encouraging students to slow down and engage with the tactile possibilities of clay. Her own work emphasizes negative space and slab-building techniques, using light, shadow, and cutout patterns to create sculptural lamps that evoke presence and containment. Re
