~20 - 25 lbs Edamame Soy Bean aka "Mao-Dou-Jia", "毛豆夹" Edamame soybean is immature soybean inside a green pod. Edamame soybean is generally three to five inches in length with one to three beans. It is faintly reminiscent of peas and is buttery with a hint of sweetness and nuttiness. The texture is firmer than a pea but still soft. The pods are usually boiled or steamed and may be served with salt or other condiments. Pods are discarded as only the beans are edible.  Handling Tip Selection Edamame soybean is plump with fuzzy skin and a uniform bright green color. Avoid edamame soybean with brown or black discoloration. Storage Edamame soybean should be stored at 40°F - 45°F (4°C - 7°C) with a relative humidity of ninety-five percent and no mist.
