~10 lbs Kumquat aka "Citrus Japonica", "Cumquat", "Jin-Ju", "Jin-Gan", "金桔", "金柑", "金橘" Kumquat is a tiny citrus fruit that is entirely edible. The thin skin is bright orange with a texture similar to that of orange. The flesh looks like a tiny version of orange with tiny white seeds. The taste is sour and tangy with a hint of sweetness. Kumquat is available from mid-fall to early summer. Handling Tip Selection Kumquat is firm with a bright orange color and shiny skin with no signs of blemishes or shriveling.  Storage Kumquat should be stored at 45°F - 48°F (7°C - 9°C) with a relative humidity of ninety to ninety-five percent and no mist. The typical shelf life is two to four weeks. Kumquat is an odor producer and should not be stored with odor-sensitive products. Kumquat is not sensitive to ethylene, a naturally occurring gas that regulates ripening, and produces a low level of ethylene. Kumquat is sensitive to chilling injury at storage below 41°F (5°C).
