In her hands she tenderly holds a conch shell, creating a scene straight out of childhood imagining of mermaid life. Each Moroccan ammonite fossil has unique patterns and coloring. The vibrant swirl of colors creates a sense of movement and allows us access to the buried past. Little is known about ammonites other than they were sea creatures that thrived during the early Jurassic period and became extinct at about the same time as dinosaurs.
