pH Up - Raise pH in Aquariums The pH levels in your saltwater aquarium can heavily impact the health of your marine life. While the ideal pH level is not universal for all fish and corals, you do not want your aquarium to fall into a lower, acidic pH level. A slightly alkaline environment (around 8.3) is a good level to aim for if you have a mixture of marine life. More often than not, hobbyists struggle to maintain a good level of alkalinity in their tank. This is where pH Up really comes into play; it helps to raise pH in aquariums, without promoting nuisance algae growth. Fish and other aerobic organisms in your saltwater aquarium respire, producing carbon dioxide and absorbing oxygen.
