Open your lid place the lid in a safe area Light your wicks Allow a full melt pool to form in your candle ( the wax must melt to every edge of the contain & should be a quarter of an inch deep) if not, this will shorten the life of your candle due to tunneling. If your wicks starts to let off smoke or soot, it is likely too long needs to be trim (cut) After lighting your candle for the first time. Trim wicks 1/4 inch before relighting you candle. NEVER TRIM YOUR CANDLE WHILE ITS BURNING DO NOT  burn your candle for more than 4 hrs
