Articulated Hamatsa Raven Maskby Alfred Robertson, Kwakwaka’wakw Nationred cedar, cedar bark, pigment18” high x 19.5” wide x 4.5” deepAlfred Robertson, Kwakwaka’wakw First Nations, was born 1050 in Kingcome Inlet, British Columbia, Canada. Alfred learned to carve from his father, William Robertson, and has carved with his brother, Sampson Robertson. Alfred carves in yellow and red cedar wood. He lives now in Nanaimo and teaches basic carving skills to elementary school children. Alfred is a very well known and very well liked Northwest Coast Native artist who is preserving the carving traditions of his people.
