Basket with Flower Basket Imbricated DesignsTsimshian First Nation, Canadacedar bark, bear grass imbrication 4.5” high x 10” long x 6.25 deep The Tsimshian people live in Northern British Columbia and Southeastern Alaska. Their baskets are usually made of twined red cedar bark with bear grass false embroidery. Butterflies and flowers were popular motifs on Tsimshian baskets made in the early 1900s.
