The bears with fish in their mouths have been Herbert's hallmark for the past 20 years or more. Herbert is quite an innovative carver - he carves many different animals and birds, always making excellent use of the color of the stone. One of his specialties is a guardian such as a frog, eagle, or indian over a pueblo. Herbert's son, Herbert Him, Jr., is now carving as well.
