NOUROT Scarlet Nova Series Studio Art Glass Bowl or Vase

Nourot Art Glass Studio, "Scarlet Nova Series", cased glass Bowl or Vase with black foot dated 1999. This wonderful bowl measures 6 1/4" (153.8cm) in diameter and 3 3/4" (9.5cm) high. The special formula for making this layered or cased glass piece is a long-held family secret developed by Michael Nourot from is education at the Venini Glassworks in Murano, Italy. (see details of Nourot below) This bowl is white glass inside with cased layers of red, 24k gold leaf and other colored glass the molded into this low-slung urn-shaped bowl and then given a heavy glass foot that allows the bowl to stand slightly aloft and balance its shape. Marked on bottom: Nourot, SB, 480, 1999, JW to indicate the series letters, piece #, year and artist collaborator. In excellent condition as shown in photos.
