It begins with the original land grant from King George II in 1735 and discusses establishment of the town and its selection as the county seat of Rappahannock County. Individual chapters provide details on growth of the town, its activities, people, businesses, and changes in government from the town’s founding to 2018. Specific topics such as roads and transportation, schools, churches, the water supply and sewer systems, the world famous Inn at Little Washington, and selection to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places are dealt with in separate chapters.
