Wompoo Fruit Doves Print
A pair of Wompoo fruit doves among the ficus fruit, eucalyptus blossoms, and fan palms of the Daintree rainforest canopy. The Daintree is part of the oldest continually surviving rainforest in the world, a magical place in North Queensland, Australia, where tropical forest grows right down to the edge of the Coral Sea. Despite their bright colors, Wompoo fruit doves sometimes blend in as they forage for fruit among the leaves high in the canopy. The first signs of their presence are often simply the sound of falling fruit, or a distinctive "wompoo" call, which gives the birds their name. All my works are hand drawn colored pencil illustrations. They are Giclee printed on 100% cotton fibre, 290 gsm acid-free, conservation grade, Italian-milled fine art paper. All art illustrated by Rachel Diaz-Bastin. Available in 2 sizes. Each fits standard sized mats and frames. All prints signed by the artist.
