From the eighth floor, I could see the immediate shadow, cast on the nearby buildings and the newly fallen snow. But it's a proven fact, even if only from my own experience every day of my life, that the sun does not stay low on the horizon. It will rise, flooding its light over the whole city, driving all darkness away, just as it did that cold November morning in Central Asia.
