AAP - The Space in Between

Something new for me - forest and trees. Growing up in Georgia, this is the world I knew and ran bare foot through, swearing there were secrets behind every tree and nymphs in the water that trickled along the deep forest floor. Honestly, not much has changed. Just spend more time getting baked by the desert sun now  For another piece in the Affordable Art Project, I painted this deeply impressionistic forest scene. Almost scrapped it half way through, but there is always a point in a painting I think is too far gone where, if you’re going to scrape it, might as well try something weird. Turns out, weird works.  16 x 20 inches.  oil on gessoboard. framed in a douglas fir floater frame. Signed, Raina.
