Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in Red' has dark green, deeply incised foliage that sets off narrow branched panicles of fluffy, dark purplish-red blooms. Astilbe 'Vision in Red' blooms mid to late summer. Astilbe, sometimes called False Spirea, prefers rich moist, organic soil and is excellent for wet, shady areas. Divide Astilbe 'Vision in Red' every 4 years to maintain vigor.
