Sagina subulata 'Aurea' is a moss-like plant with tufts of tiny, slender stems that grow together to form a lush carpet of chartreuse green. Its tiny, white, fragrant flowers bloom in late spring. Also known as Scotch Moss, Sagina subulata 'Aurea' is nice in containers and fairy gardens as well as between stepping stones or used as a ground cover in small areas. This perennial is usually evergreen. Sagina subulata 'Aurea' prefers bright shade and consistently moist soil. It will tolerate sun if given adequate moisture. It may become summer dormant in hot, humid areas. Scotch Moss can withstand heavy foot traffic. Space on 12" centers.
