Can also be mounted on the base. GREAT CONDITION. THE TAIL IS NOT BROKEN BY THE WAY, IT WAS CREATED WITH 2 LARGE SEPARATE PIECES OF MOTHER OF PEARL. THE HOLE NEXT TO THE FRONT OF THE FISH IS THERE IN CASE SOMEONE WANTS TO INSERT A PIN TO LOCK THE BODY IN PLACE BUT IT IS NOT NECESSARY AS IT IS HOLDING WELL TOGETHER.
