This leather bookmark is engraved with an illustration of a Roman woman with floral accents that is over 100 years old! The style itself is both romantic and bold with similar elements to the popular Art Nouveau style. The historical illustration featured was scanned from a book that is over 100 years old and adapted before being engraved on veggie tan leather. Historical illustrations are a passion of mine and it feels very satisfying to think that by adapting old and forgotten art the piece of work can live on in a new medium.
