So it is with trail blazes, sometimes painted in bright blue, red or yellow. This was the scene along the Avalon Trail as it wends its way up toward the Willey Ridge in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Magic, marshmallow trees line the trail and there, on a tree, is an occasional yellow blaze.
