This spiral of forest, kelly and grassy greens was inspired by social, environmental & political activist Wangari Maathai.  She was the 1st African woman to receive the Nobel Prize and the first woman from East & Central Africa to become a Doctor of Philosophy.  She also founded the Green Belt Movement. “A tree has roots in the soil yet reaches to the sky.
