The remaining 8 triangular faces are smaller and intentionally left blank. Occasionally the die does land on one of the triangular faces, but I use that as a signal to make sure the upcoming encounter gets extra-spicey!  Possible encounters include armed groups, battle-sign, beasts, death-sign, deception, food resources, godly phenonmena, health events, magical phenomena, monsters, rescue missions, respite, shopping, solo travelers, structures,   terrain challenges, traps, and weather events.
