It is native to tropical reefs of the Pacific Ocean at depths of from 10 to 100 metres (33 to 328 ft). It is currently the only known member in its genus. The Longnose Hawkfish may be aggressive towards smaller shrimp. It is not suggested to add a hawkfish to your reef tank if you have small shrimp present. We recommend a 30 gallon or larger tank for housing with a lid as they can jump.
