Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic broad spectrum antibiotic medication used to treat different strains of bacteria that can afflict your fish & corals. Ciprofloxacin is also effective against gram-negative and some gram-positive bacterial pathogens of fish. Important Note: Antibiotic medications can kill beneficial nitrifying bacteria so it is recommended to add nitrifying bacteria after treatment. When treating an entire aquarium always keep a close eye on tank inhabitants for any signs of stress. If any signs of stress are visible, do a water change, turn on UV sterilizer and add activated carbon to help remove medication.
