Dell PowerConnect 6224P Description: The PowerConnect 6224P is a powerful networking switch with advanced routing capabilities. This layer 3 switch is a Gigabit speed switch that provides 10/100/1000 speed to all 24 ports. Four of the ports are combo ports providing either standard Base-T Ethernet or GbE SFP connections. The Dell 6224P is a Power over Ethernet switch (PoE). This PoE switch is capable of supplying full IEEE 802.3af 15.4W compliant power to end devices such as access points or IP phones. A Dell EPS-470 is required to provide full 15.4W power to all 24 ports at once. The switch has a switch fabric capicity of 136 Gbps, making for ultra fast switch capabilities when stacked. In addition, features such as broadcast storm control, port mirroring, iSCSI autoconfiguration, and auto MDI/MDIX all come standard. The Dell PowerConnect 6224P provides a modular bay in the rear of the chassis that can accept 10Gb uplink modules. These modules provide the ability to uplink CX4, SFP+ Fiber, or 10Gb Ethernet connections from the Dell 6224P to a 10Gb core network switch. The PowerConnect is capable of being stacking through an optional stacking module in the rear of the chassis.
