white and gold hexagon studs

These studs were inspired by this bowl at Casa Milà, a house of Antoni Gaudí, and by the street tiles, also designed by Gaudí, in Vila De Gràcia.  Clear glaze is hand painted in the design, the piece is fired, then a kiln-fired 22k gold luster is hand painted over the glazed design.  The difference in the glazed and unglazed surfaces creates a beautiful texture.
