Shades

Behind an elephant's eyes is a thousand stories. Naserian was rescued back in 2004. As a 4-month-old orphan, she was found trailing wild herds in Samburu National Reserve, who did not accept her as one of their own. Worried that she would not survive the night the SWT rescue team was able to safely capture her and transfer her to the Nairobi Nursery Unit. A little over a year later she moved to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit and is now part of a wild herd in Tsavo. In 2021 she had a baby, Njema, born in the wild.
