Veiled Tee
The Veiled Tee explores the complex interplay and relationship between life and death. The image of centered maiden adorning a funeral veil with black leather gloves and a bouquet of flowers is associated with death, each element relating to death in its own unique way. On the other hand, however, each article also has its own unique relationship with life. The leather gloves were harvested from something that used to be living. The leather is merely a fragment of the animal, a fragment that lacked consciousness in the first place. This places the gloves in an ambiguous gray area of life and death. The flowers are fresh and alive, not being withered or rotten. The veil is made of synthetic materials; plastics and synthetic fabrics. So even in the case of a funeral, an event, marked by death in every way, life is still present.
